Week 12
High-Upside guys to stash before the morning games:
John Metchie (7% owned) — even with Nico back, he had a 60% snap share and 3 receptions. Metchie was still involved and Tank Dell hasn’t looked like the same player. It’s worth getting another look at him in Week 12 and see if he can build off his encouraging Week 10 performance.
Jalen Coker (8% owned) — 8 targets before the bye week, his usage is trending in a nice direction. He may be the rookie you want over Xavier Legette and could emerge down the stretch. Even with Adam Thielen back, he’s getting volume and the undrafted rookie is making the most of his opportunities.
Adonai Mitchell (16% owned) — with Anthony Richardson returning to form, ADs production took a hit. But his talent (and draft capital) is undeniable and could be their WR2 by seasons end. Michael Pittman could be cooked, and AD is 1 monster game away from having his ownership skyrocket.
Jaylen Wright (16% owned) — a premium handcuff to De’von Achane, and already seems to have jumped Raheem Mostert as the RB2. 26% snap share, 6 touches, elite size/speed and the coaches really like him when they traded up to get him in the 4th round of the draft. A must roster if you have Achane, and a fun lottery ticket if you have room.
Cam Akers (27% owned) — another valuable handcuff you want, especially if you are the Aaron Jones owner. 37% snap share, 12 touches last week and 1 TD, Akers is settling in nicely with his former team. In the last 4 weeks, Jones has been underwhelming with his opportunities, so Akers could even start providing standalone value.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add one (or more) of these guys before the Sunday afternoon games:
Chris Brooks (0% owned) — handcuffs are valuable down the stretch and he may be the Josh Jacobs backup you want, we just don’t know yet. 22% snaps, strong in passing game and they are clearly making an effort to get him invovled.
Dylan Laube (4% owned) — the rookie will get his chance this Sunday with both Zamir White and Alexander Mattison doubtful. A 6th round pick out of New Hampshire, he put up over 1400 all purpose yards as a senior. He could be a flex play if you’re on byemageddon, or a nice lottery ticket if you have room.
Isaac Guerendo (5% owned) — he’s been sent back to the bench but still a great handcuff if anything happens to CMC. The rookie’s shown flashes as one of the more talented backs in the 2024 class and has looked just as or more explosive than Jordan Mason. If you have CMC but not Mason, he’s a must roster. Otherwise, he’s a fun lottery ticket.
Emanuel Wilson (6% owned) — the more likely handcuff to Josh Jacobs, he’s averaging 4.8 YPC off 57 carries this year. Offers little standalone value, so he’s only worth having on your radar if you’re the Jacobs owner and in playoff contention.
Devaughn Vele (11% owned) — this guys trending up, and has been slowly getting a larger role. 9 targets, 8 receptions, 100+ yds, 1 TD and 67% snap share across last 2 weeks. Sean Payton seems to like him and his breakout may be coming.
Ameer Abdullah (11% owned) — maybe the most boring flex play and waiver trend of the year. He’s 31 years old and likely offers little upside outside of this week. However, the Las Vegas backfield has been horrible and he did score a TD last week, so if you’re desperate for a back, grab him.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add one (or more) of these guys before Sunday Night Football:
Will Shipley (4% owned) — a lottery ticket if Saquon were to miss any time, and a rookie backup you may need at some point. The reality is, we don’t know what his role would be if the former happens, but you won’t want to wait until it’s too late to find out. The good news is he’s an easy pickup and drop if he does nothing.
Blake Corum (20% owned) — Corum will likely be on this list weekly at this point. He’s still one of the most elite handcuffs in the game, and if anything happens to Kyren Williams he could help you win your league. They invested a lot in him and are slowly giving him a role too with 19% snaps & 5 carries last week.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add one (or more) of these guys before the Monday Night Football:
Keaton Mitchell (8% owned) — his time is coming, and with Justice Hill working his way out of concussion protocol, more snaps may be on tap on Monday. He’s a fun, explosive, lottery ticket come playoff time — or if you’re the Derrick Henry owner, this may be some critical handcuff insurance.
Gus Edwards (28% owned) — he’s showing strong YPC each game, but JK Dobbins refuses to take a back seat to anyone. At this point, Gus Bus is probably only worth grabbing if you are the JK owner in case the wheels fall off down the stretch.
Also - Bye Week stashes to add before Monday Night Football:
Ray Davis (22% owned) — this may be your window to get him for free. He’s a sneaky add on a bye week, with ownership plunging the last 2 weeks due to nearly no involvement. But this may be one of the most talented rookie backs, and he’s proved that when he touches the ball, explosive things happen. If you own James Cook, he’s a must roster handcuff.
Note: these are players to have fun picking up & dropping in Week 11, hoping they go to the moon. Do not drop a key player on your bench for them - only drop someone with no value or upside.
