Week 14
High-Upside guys to stash before the morning games:
Will Shipley (4% owned) — Saquon Barkley is having not only a career season but maybe a record breaking one. However, what would seriously happen if he were to miss time? At a minimum, Saquon owners should have Shipley or Kenneth Gainwell as insurance.
Kendre Miller (9% owned) — The new coaching staff wants to activate him with a clean slate, and he’s worth rostering especially if you own Alvin Kamara. You have to think they want to see what they have in their 3rd round pick from last year.
Sincere McCormick (10% owned) — The Las Vegas backfield has sucked all year. It’s a total mess and no one wants a running back on one of the worst teams. McCormick however has provided a spark, with 12 carries for 64 yards last week against the difficult Chiefs defense. He may be a sneaky flex start down the stretch.
Tre Tucker (16% owned) — This kid just simply hasn’t been able to put together the season some had hoped for. That said, he’s trending upward. Tucker is on the field for almost every play, and is averaging about 12 fantasy points per game over the last 2 weeks. And what if they actually get a QB next year?
Jaylen Wright (16% owned) — Raheem Mostert is questionable for Sunday, so he may be in line for more work. Regardless, if you own De’Von Achane, you should have Wright as insurance down the stretch. Miami traded up to invest in him, so his role will likely only get larger.
Cam Akers (27% owned) — He’s really only insurance for the Aaron Jones owner at this point. But if you have room and want to roster a handcuff for the morning games, grab Akers just in case the 30 year old Jones can’t stay healthy.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add one (or more) of these guys before the Sunday afternoon games:
Israel Abanikanda (5% owned) — San Francisco grabbed him off waivers this week and he may end up being the new handcuff for Isaac Guerendo. Izzy was explosive in college but hasn’t gotten a real the opportunity yet in the NFL.
Patrick Taylor (8% owned) — or maybe the handcuff to own is this guy. Taylor was just elevated from the practice squad and should be suiting up for Sundays game against the Bears. The 26 year old played three years with the Packers and averaged 4.0 YPC. Stash, wait, and see.
Blake Corum (22% owned) — he’s been on this list weekly and nothing changes this week. Corum is one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy football and could be a league winner if Kyren Williams misses any time down the stretch.
Ray Davis (25% owned) — another weekly name on this list, Davis has been excellent when given the opportunity. James Cook just won’t let up and has literally been cooking with the ball in his hands. All James Cook owners should roster Davis, and if you have room he’s a great lottery ticket.
Trey Benson (27% owned) — one more weekly recurring name and one of the top handcuffs in fantasy football. Benson is a must roster for any James Conner owner, and would be a league winner if Conner missed any time down the stretch. Continue holding this lottery ticket until the end.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add this guy before Sunday Night Football:
Kimani Vidal (19% owned) — he made the most of his opportunities last week averaging 5.0 yards off 4 carries. With JK Dobbins on IR, and the aging Gus Edwards not exactly the most electric RB, Vidal is a tremendous lottery ticket down the stretch and should see more carries on Sunday Night Football.
If they bust, drop them to the waiver wire and add one (or more) of these guys before the Monday Night Football:
Khalil Herbert (10% owned) — he’s had 1 carry since moving to Cincinnati and Chase Brown became a Kyren Williams esque workhorse. This is precisely why he could be some sneaky insurance if you are the Brown owner, especially if he were to miss any time in the playoffs.
Brandin Cooks (22% owned) — Cooks is back and he had a solid showing on Thanksgiving, with 7 targets and a touchdown. Dallas has a nice playoff schedule and he could turn into a flex play if you need help at receiver. If the speedy WR is sitting there for free, grab him and see if Cooper Rush continues to target him in the red zone.
Also - Bye Week stashes to add before Monday Night Football:
Marvin Mims (6% owned) — Is the Mims breakout finally happening? Could be more wishful thinking, and more teasing from Sean Payton, but Mims is trending upward as of late. Last week he had his second 100 yard game since Week 2 of his rookie year, and has put up some nice fantasy points in return. Let’s see!
Jaleel McLaughlin (16% owned) — the Denver backfield continues to become impossible for fantasy owners to predict. Last week it was McLaughlin who took the lead with 14 carries for 84 yards (6.0 YPC). If Sean Payton continues to ride the hot hand, Jaleel may be the guy. Audric Estime is also worth grabbing as Javonte Williams has been horrible the last 2 games.
Note: these are players to have fun picking up & dropping in Week 11, hoping they go to the moon. Do not drop a key player on your bench for them - only drop someone with no value or upside.
