What's up everyone, Andrew Pace here, Founder and CEO of inplayLIVE - the home for live sports investing.

And I want to welcome you to this sports betting How-To series, where we're going to be teaching you how to sports bet.

And more specifically today, we're going to be teaching you about the Moneyline, and Moneyline betting.

So what is the Moneyline ? Really simply put, the Moneyline is picking a team to win the game. It's that simple.

Today we're actually going to be showing you what a money line bet is and how to actually place that wager.

All right - so when it comes to sports betting online, it's important to have a good and reputable sports book.

I'm using Bet99 today, which is a great book to wager on.

Whether you're sports betting online in Canada, or you're sports betting in the United States or anywhere else in the world, it's important to get comfortable with your book and what they offer. So I'm already logged in here on Bet99.

And if you want to join Bet99.com, they have a $500 welcome bonus for signing up.

But if you click our link below and enter the promo code inplayLIVE, you're actually going to get a $600 sign up bonus.

So we definitely recommend maximizing your bonuses on each individual sports book.

But back to the Moneyline, you're going to see that you have a whole bunch of different sports here at the top that you can wager on tonight.

I want to wager on basketball, but when it comes to money line betting specifically, it really is the same for every sport, because you're just picking that one team that you want to win to win the game.

So I want to bet on the NBA tonight. And when I click on NBA, you're going to see the full roster of all the games being played for that particular day. Now, if this is a little bit confusing to you from a real simple standpoint, all you need to do is click on the game that you want to wager on tonight. So in my case, I'm going to be clicking on the Washington Wizards against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And first right off the bat, you see at the very top, there it is - Moneyline. So we have American odds on Bet99.com listed right now.

So minus 1000, what that actually means is if I wager $1,000, that's the amount that I need to wager to win a hundred.

So when it comes to American odds and sports betting odds explained - American odds will always display on the minus side, how much you need to wager to win a hundred dollars.

As you can see in the top right here, If the Wizards won, I would have risked a thousand dollars to win $100. Hence the minus 1000 odds.

If I click on the Oklahoma City Thunder side, it says, plus 680. This means that if I weighed your $100, I will receive $680 in profit and return $780 back. So what's really important when you're betting the moneyline and what a moneyline bet is, is that not all games are equal.

This means that there's a favorite and there's an underdog. And in this case, the Oklahoma City Thunder are huge underdogs. I can profit way more money by betting the Oklahoma City Thunder side of this game versus the Washington Wizards side of the game.

But there's a reason for that. And that's because other sports betters and handicappers around the world believe that the Wizards are far more likely to win the game tonight.

So I'm actually going to go ahead and place a wager on the Oklahoma City Thunder. I don't think they're going to win, but I like the odds.

So I'm going to go ahead and just put a $100 wager on that plus six 80 odds. And you can see now I've got a bet ID. I've got an accepted wager $100 returns me $780 wins me $680.

And I can click over into my bet section and I can see that that wager is live. There's a little bit of a cash out option there. If I wanted to take out less money than what I put in which I'm not going to do.

So Go Thunder !  I'm going to be cheering for them tonight to upset the Washington Wizards, but that is the Moneyline explained and how it works if we were to have decimal odds turned on, which is sometimes a little bit more of a simple way to look at sports betting odds as they're displayed to you.

This particular Oklahoma City Thunder wager would actually be 7.8. And with decimal odds, they're really simple. We would just multiply the 100 by 7.8, giving us that $780 return.

So with the Moneyline, like I said, it's really, really simple, and it's a lot of fun to wager on. You're just picking the team to win.

And as you can see, there's a heavy favorite and a heavy underdog in certain games.

Whereas other games that we can click on, which I can show you right now, you're going to see much more similar odds for teams that are equally matched. So I'll just go back to basketball.

Here, click on the NBA. And when I get back into this NBA menu, you're going to see that a game like the Pacers and the Spurs.

One side of the Moneyline play pays plus 100 or even money. So if I placed a $100 wager, it would return the 200 on the Spurs side. They are slight favorites. If I placed a $100 wager on the Spurs side, it would return me $85 in profit. And that is the money line.

So you can see some games are obviously more skewed than others, and that's based on how successful those teams are in the league that you're wagering on.

So I hope you enjoyed this video. I hope you learned a little something about Moneyline Betting and how the moneyline works.
